Our Mission
Socket was started because I wanted smart home technology that felt natural as opposed to complicated or over-engineered. When I lived at home I wanted to automate our home's lighting. After speaking with an electrician, I discovered how limited the options were in Australia for modern, affordable, and simple to use home automation systems.
Most systems were designed for 120V, required specialist installers to program (and reprogram) every time something changed, or were simply low quality.
Replacing every bulb with a smart bulb wasn’t realistic either. It was expensive, and once someone turned the light off at the wall, the bulb was no longer powered or connected, defeating the purpose of a connected home in the first place.
My home has always been a place for simplicity, comfort and connection, and I wanted to build technology that respects that.
Every switch we make is designed to work seamlessly with the devices you already use, while keeping the tactile feel and reliability of a traditional light switch. It’s smart home control that is simplified, refined, and built for how we actually live.
